Two parks in Coon Rapids will see a big overhaul this summer following action by the City Council this week.On Tuesday night, the City Council awarded the contract for improvements at Riverwind Park and Crooked Lake Park to Custom Builders Incorporated in the amount of nearly $1.7 million. Plans for Riverwind Park call for basketball and pickleball courts, a new playground, trails, improved parking and a park building in the future. Over at Crooked Lake Park, plans call for a new playground, improved tennis courts, sand volleyball, picnic shelters, restrooms, a parking lot expansion, central plaza and fishing pier. Another $200,000 was approved for the purchase of playground equipment and lighting for Crooked Lake Park.
