What shelters are available for reservations?
Shelters at Crooked Lake Park, Woodview Park and Lion’s Park are available for reservation from May 1st to October 31st. Warming houses, Riverwind Building and other shelters are available to reserve, but may be limited to seasonal usage.

Do I need to have a reservation to use a picnic shelter?
All shelters may be used on a first come, first served basis. However, to guarantee a space you need to reserve and pay fees in accordance with the fee schedule.

Does our reservation give us exclusive use?
With a reservation, you will have exclusive use of the shelter and corresponding grill. Parks are public space and restrooms and play areas are open to all.

Reservations are rain or shine, but you may cancel at least 48 hours in advance with a full refund.

Can we reserve a shelter for just part of a day?
Reservations are for a whole day. Fees reflect shorter hours for Monday – Friday and all day Saturday and Sunday.

How many people can each shelter hold?
Each shelter has 4 picnic tables and accommodates most groups of approximately 50 people. If you expect more than 75 people at Lion’s Park you will be have all three shelters as part of the reservation.

How do people know that a shelter is reserved?
The City posts permits in a permit box on each shelter alerting the public of a reservation. You will also receive a confirmation/receipt of your reservation to carry with as proof stating the date and shelter of use.
8.
Are alcoholic beverages allowed with reservations?
All Coon Rapids parks are alcohol and tobacco free. In addition please refrain from use of any glass containers.
9.
May we set up a tent or bounce house for our reservation?
Bounce housed and tents are not allowed with park shelter reservation. Lawn games are allowable as room permits.
